Zia

Located in Green Hills, on Hillsboro Pike, Zia is a unique floral and antique shop. Now, much like myself, you may be wondering how the name Zia came about. Karen, both owner and florist of Zia, explained Zia is the Italian word for "Aunt". She also explained that both her nieces and nephews simply call her "Aunt". Now, this is not the only explanation to how the name of the shop came about. Years before the shop was even conceived, Her husband bought her a ring and the name of that ring was Zia. After discovering the meaning of the word Zia was "Aunt" in Italian, Karen knew she would name her one day shop Zia. This jewel of a shop has been producing beautiful arrangements for five years. Karen's love for flowers and attention to detail will undoubtedly leave you pleased with any arrangement you wish.

Sanjana.

I love the celebration of life. I recently had the opportunity of documenting Sanjana's first year of life. The party was lavished with wonderful food and the fellowship of excited friends and family.

Nautilus

While visiting the beach with my family, I decided to take a walk to clear my head. It's funny how one can physically be on vacation but your mind is toiling with the ways of home.

Recently, I have taken photography on as my full time job. With this exciting new profession, I discovered it bears many tug of war battles. My mind is always chasing ideas, it never rests. With this said, my body is on vacation while my mind is home brewing ideas of how to be an "innovative photographer". With this profession, we often believe that we must always have grand ideas. However, sometimes we must have silence to understand what is really around us. On this walk, I discovered the silence my mind had been craving.

This is a sweet couple from Michigan. They have been visiting Okaloosa Island for the past six years and stay for the entire winter. After strolling the beach daily, they stop to rest at this peaceful secluded area of the beach. I really enjoyed their company. It's always refreshing to see two elderly people still so in love!

Here I decided to put the timer on and try to run down the ledge...

One

I had the opportunity of photographing sweet Lyla Grace's first birthday party! Lyla's day was suitably celebrated with princess decor. The party was an absolute blast. Here are just a few moments from the fun day.
